Hemp Oil For Rabbits and Small Pets

Updated: Jun 29, 2021

A common question asked by most, Hemp CBD oil and use with the small animal companion, with main focus on the #bunny. So we thought we would address the many inquiries we receive about Hemp CBD oil here, with hope this is helpful for you.

Discovered by reseacher Dr. Raphael Mechoulam in the 1990’s the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) a biological system that exists in all mammals. The main purpose of ECS is to maintain homeostasis (balance) within the body playing an important role in many of the body’s systems. The lack of natural balance can affect many aspects of health, such as the body's immune system, nervous system, digestive system, endocrine, respiratory and others.

"Only full spectrum Hemp oil can deliver the entourage effect which refers to the combined effect of the phytocannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and other beneficial compounds in the hemp plant as they work in synergy in your body. -FR

Over the past 5 years we have embraced full spectrum hemp oil as it contains not only cannabinoids, but all the beneficial elements of the whole plant, helping to bring the body back to homeostasis, which actually means internal stability, equilibrium, and balance. CBD is non-psychoactive and will not get you or your animals "high".

Full spectrum Hemp CBD oil has been very helpful with our own personal small animals which the oil has noticeably contributed to their wellbeing. Hemp CBD can be a wonderful dietary supplement that can easily be incorporated into a daily routine.

We personally have experienced and have seen with the use of Hemp CBD oil that this natural plant has safely helped people and animals alike, to include anxiety, pain, inflammation, digestion, and is widely used for many chronic health issues with positive results.

Hemp CBD oil can also be a wonderful natural alternative to those pharmaceuticals that otherwise have long term side effects. Please consult with your Veterinarian if your pet is currently on prescribed medication before starting Hemp CBD.

As far as Hemp CBD dosing there's no exact, as it’s a natural personalized medicine. We all have our own unique physiology to include our animals, we all metabolize differently and our bodies needs are not the same. So it is highly suggested to start low and slow and monitor your pets. Keep a logue and note the effects experienced or observed for the first week of introducing Hemp CBD oil. It’s far easier to increase a dose than to start out to high then back peddling dosing down.

We cannot speak for all CBD oil options available on today's market- as not all are created equal!

However with our premium brand choice of Full Spectrum Hemp CBD oil Kips of The Plant, we have found 1 drop of 250 mg tincture to be the starting point for small animals and may be all that is needed. You can increase amount or try micro dosing through out the day based on individual need.

CBD Oil Tips for your Bunnies..

-We have found Hemp CBD oil to be useful during the bonding process with a new family of rabbits. By creating a calmness for the rabbits that might otherwise feel anxious, this has helped to make the bonding process more peaceful and successful.

-After the altering (spay/neuter) of rabbits CBD has helped with pain and inflammation caused from the surgical site. Also helping the animals to remain more calm during the healing period which in turn aides in the healing process. We also recommend our colloidol silver spray on the surgical areas, a natural anti bacterial, anti fungal, anti viral spray to help prevent infection.

Below photos shared from Mr. Beans & Friends suggested ways to administer Hemp CBD tincture to your bunnies.

1-2 drops of Hemp CBD Oil directly onto a piece of organic banana is always received well by our group.

If your bunnies are cooperative, hold your bunny comfortably in your lap gently lift the side of his/her lip and apply a drop directly into the mouth.
